Pilgrim Academy is an average sized primary school which caters for pupils between the ages of 3 and 11. We have a dedicated and highly motivated staff who work extremely hard and have high expectations of all our pupils. Pupils are taught in sets for English and Mathematics.
We see our parents as co-educators and recognise that when parents and the school work together, children benefit. Throughout the year there are many opportunities for us to liaise and work together through letters, events, assemblies, homework and meetings. The Academy website is an invaluable source of information and contact with us.
The staff at the school has an excellent understanding of the ways children learn and this informs our individual pupil centred teaching. We like to combine fun with learning. The staff use methodical assessment to plan carefully for each lesson and group, and this information is shared with parents and carers. We cater for all pupils regardless of their needs and abilities, helping the higher-flyers fly higher and giving every support to those struggling.
